Edith Blythe Erwin, 93, of Becker Manor, Roanoke Rapids died Monday, June 23, 2008, at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Erwin was born October 14, 1914 in Southampton County, VA to the late Benjamin F. Blythe and Ruth Lee Blythe. She was retired from J. P. Stevens.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Olia Johnson, Ruby Vaughan, Leitha Cranford, Odell Pulley, Catherine Dickens, and Elsie Harris Gilliam; her brother, Herbert Blythe; her half brother, Roland Britt; and her grandchildren, Aimee Catherine Erwin and Arthur “Art” Allen Moore, Jr.

Mrs. Erwin is survived by two daughters, Nancy Telliga and her husband, Earl, and Brenda Moore, and her husband, Arthur; one son, William “Billy” Erwin, and his wife, Linda, all of Roanoke Rapids; five grandchildren, William “Bill” Erwin, II, and his wife, Raina, of Cary, David Erwin, and his fiancé, Julie Strickland, of Greenville, Archie Telliga, III and his wife, Amy, of Garner, Michael Telliga of Roanoke Rapids, and Eric Moore, and his wife, Mardi, of Charlotte; six great-grandchildren, Colton Moore of Raleigh, Catherine, Sarah and Morgan Erwin of Cary, Zack Moore of Charlotte, and Madelyne Telliga of Garner; and three step great-grandchildren, Jillian and Nathan Piatt, and Ashly Schuhwerk, all of Cary.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, and other times at the home of Brenda and Arthur Moore, 404 Washington St., Roanoke Rapids, NC. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids with Minister Randy Martin officiating.
